                If all you are doing is 2D have you tried Illustrator ? or some other vector drawing program with the ability to save to DXF.

                Thanks for the replys.
No, I haven't tried Illustrator. I look into it.
1st attatchment is in jpeg to show the curvature before being lost in lazycam. Really to much info there for maching, I just wanted to show somewhat what it is I'm after. Points 1/2/3 is where curvature is lost.

                This is how it appears in lazycam, lost curvatures. 
This is as complicated as I'm after. I have no need or wants to machine anything more complicated.

None of that is any problem at all for ViaCad. Make sure you try out the DXF file save options within ViaCad, as I think the earlier versions (R12 etc) might dumb down the file. I use CamBam for my CAM program but it won't do lathe as yet, but might be worth downloading for you to check how it handles DXFs - very well, I might add. See attachment.
