Newbie here. I have managed to finally create my first object.
I am puzzled by the model to sheet function on a couple of points but I will go one by one.
I have all the dimensions in my model but they don't carry over to the sheet.
There is also some text meant to be engraved on it. This does not carry over either.
Am I missing something here?

Model to Sheet takes a 3D part, calculates the hidden lines, and projects into a scaled 2D draw view. It does not carry over dimensions.
Here are a couple of movies regarding model to sheet and dimensions.
Model To Sheet http://www.csi-concepts.com/Demo/videos/ModelToSheet.mp4 Dimension Tips http://www.csi-concepts.com/Demo/videos/dimTips.mp4 >>There is also some text meant to be engraved on it. This does not carry over either.
If it is a text entity that will not move along to the draw view.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the response. 1: I had previously viewed those vids and reviewed again. I see where you applied dimensions while in the sheet. No issue with doing that. It is just redundant to me at the moment. I see where you moved the modeled house plans with dimensions over into the sheet successfully. I can't do that for some reason. I did not see a "what not to do" when going from model to the sheet. That is not happening for me. I even did a manual "select all". The dimensions are getting left in the lower left corner of the screen off of the sheet. Just trying to figure out where I went wrong as doing the dimensions twice is not too inviting. 2: Pity about the text. I did not see anything in the help files or vids about engraving so I figured this was the only way to display the intention. 3: I eventually will be running this through a cam program and on to a CNC machine so I am assuming at the moment that an stl. file will have all the dimensions embedded. But I also need paper versions of prints with dimensions for old school, non CNC work. Thanks

If you turn off "Ignore Curves" it will bring along curves, text and dimensions. >>that an stl. file will have all the dimensions embedded. The STL file only supports triangles. It does not include curves text or dimensions. Tim

OK, got that resolved. I have other issues with the sheet to overcome but here is some info. What NOT to do when modeling to sheet. 1: Select all or surround everything with the pick tool. 2: Click the model to sheet icon. This moves the model to sheet but results in the issue I had with the missing components. Unchecking "ignore curves" has no effect in this case. The Proper method. 1: Choose the model to sheet icon. 2: Drag the model to sheet tool around all items to select what is expected on the sheet 3: Uncheck "ignore curves" to get the text to move with it. It then moves to the sheet as expected. I am not sure how I arrived at my original method. Maybe it just wasn't written, explained or shown in a way to be obvious or I was just blocked. Either way I now know and am on to new sheet issues. I will muddle with those for a time before raising my hand. Thanks
