Tested v10 1314 this weekend by creating a video showing various features of ViaCAD and PowerPack Pro converting an image into a 3D model.

Tim, watching you dealing with the outline of the horse, PP is treating the outline as a polyline, you refer to it as a polyline in the video, yet VC and Shark don't have native polyline tools. We can script and import a polyline via .spl, but it's treated as segments in the apps, gotta be grouped to be seen as contiguous. Why the ambiguous treatment?

That looks a pretty competent raster-to-vector, BTW.

Hi Murray

ViaCAD can create a Polyline with the following commands:

--Change Object Type to PolyLine
--Join Two or more Lines
--Show Free Edges of a mesh
--Slice a Mesh

>>gotta be grouped to be seen as contiguous
If it is all lines, I'll often use the Join command instead of group.

FYI, the Mesh to Analytic tool can also be used on Polyline where it will convert a Polyline back into an arc/circle/ellipse.

Holler if you have some PolyLine suggestions!

Contextual smarts would be useful. If a tool like extrude/sweep in invoked and you select a segment in a chain with coincident endpoints, whether a multiline, polylines, polygon, it's a reasonable bet that the chain is the intended profile rather than the single segment. A keypress option?
