Am I doing something wrong here? I selected the facets and hit Option/Alt while dragging the Gripper down.

Its mostly doing what I want which is to move without affect the adjacent facets, but the front facets are being insubordinate.

Some trick I need to be doing?

Thanks in advance.

You extrude only the upper faces. Of course the front faces remain.

You must remove these faces and create new. Do you have PowerPack?

Thank you. Looks like I had it but it disappeared somehow. Must have deleted it a year or two ago accidentally and cant seem to find my license either.

Could you pls elaborate on the process to remove and create new faces?

Remove Faces: Deep Select Tool + Delete key
Create Faces: PowerPack-->Mesh Tools-->Add Facets 4 point and right click to finalize
