I would really like to see the infinite plane be a little larger. In a model that has lots of lines and parts its hard to see planes no matter what color they are.

Thanks

How much larger than infinite do you want? (sorry, could not resist)

When zooming into areas, it seems the IP nicely becomes clearer, but then at some deeper zooming, it can become huge. On zooming out, it becomes obscured, and sometimes i have to color code it or zoom in from a perspective/view angle that keeps it apparent in order to use it.

I also agree with these comments and It might also help if it were to have a transparent colour fill, with possibly some other unique feature, so as to make it appear more "Plane like" and to differentiate it from other parts of the drawing.

>> were to have a transparent colour fill

I saw that in another CAD system and thought it was very nice, along with handles to resize and reorientate.

transparent is nice... bigger is nice too!

Attached is a sample of a transparent, larger datum plane! ;)

Any more thought to getting infinite planes to display better, bigger... user size customizable...

Thanks

I wrote that back in December.

Now, it seems the reverse is happening. I zoom in and the plane expands such that i might lose track of where it is. On zooming farther out, it is still findable, which is nice. But, maybe some sort of "stretchiness" or "ballisticality" could be embedded. It would be nice if the user could make the visibility of the IP adaptive, or somehow know what the cursor and mouse wheel are doing so that if the user is appearing to be using the IP a lot (for trimming/cutting/masking, etc), the IP takes on a behavior that keeps it more in view.

Translucency is nice and all, but sometimes i just end up creating a real plane, coloring it, and trimming things against that. If i don't need the associativity anymore, i quickly delete it and accept breaking the links. I hated moving the plane and and not realizing i was shifting the position of associated items.

I would also like to see the infinite plane larger and have some relation to view.

Could we also show the orientation in the cursor? Perhaps it is just me be while I am working on a model I forget the x versus y orientation of the plane. If the cursor changed I would never have that problem.

Thanks,

Art

I use the infinite plane all the time working with solids. I would like to be able to set shorts for the plane on each axis and for 3 points also. This would really help my workflow.
