Im trying to understand the "Mesh Parameters" when exporting a shape to STL.

In circular shapes the facets are quite visible (low triangle count/large triangles).

Playing with the options of the "Mesh Parameters" dialog when exporting the STL I have made this observations:

1. Smaller value for Normal Deviation makes the length of the base of the facet triangles smaller.

2. An Edge Length value of other that zero changes the length of each facet triangle.

Question 1: Any suggestion on where I can get info on each of the parameters ("Mesh Parameters") when exporting to STL.

Question 2: Any suggestions on how to get more detail/precision on the STL exports.

It's in the manual I think. I just knock the deviation down to nearer zero. You gain more facets and better shape

If you're 3D printing with fused filament printer and slicing with Cura, Cura will slice six formats other than .stl. One or more of those might give you output that pleases you more than .stl.

Tim's book, "Tips and Tricks" has the info you want. Find it here:
