For the select tool i use "q", it is near esc key

for the select tool I use the pointed bracket <
and for deep select I use >
Of course, this is convenient for me because I have a german keyboard

@gebhardt -- Thanks for that suggestion.

For my US (Apple Magic Keyboard) I used the ` key, which is right below the esc key.

So nice to have this capability to quickly exit any tool.
