Sorry another buggy file.

Open xz_transposed.vc3, select the slab, select Transpose, pick end point A then end point B.

Now look at the numbers in the prompt area. X and Z are transposed. Confirm this by zeroing X or Z and the part moves in the other.
File Attachment(s):
xz-transposed.vc3 (13kb) downloaded 5 time(s).

When you translate(move) the block the top menu will show the relative distance moved in those axis with ref to the current workplane. You are currently in the "side" workplane. To see the relative distance move with ref to the global workplane, right click the object and select object info.

I'm amazed that I have not spotted this. The manual does not say!

A few experiments explain my confusion. The workplane is not modal! It defaults to the set workplane, but swaps to the view when another is selected and back again after using dynamic rotate. The numbers in the data entry fields do NOT change if the workplane is changed in the middle of the translate operation, but the effect of modifying them does. This is not consistent with Steves assertion. It would be it the numbers changed with the workplane.

I can see the virtue of workplane relative here. But not moving the work behind the scenes, unless the data entry fields follow dynamically.

The workplane changing with view I believe is a bug, and is not predictable when first starting VC.

I have reported it on the beta section.

Any chance of a reported bug list? It would save loads of grief.

An open bug tracker or even an updated sticky post with known bugs would be excellent, but that is down to Tim if he has the inclination and/or the time.
