I have models that I assign different colors in Shark v5.5. I then export these via .obj to C4d. If I stay with the basic colors in Shark, the import into C4d works fine and the model is seprated by the colors I assigned in Shark. HOWEVER, there are only 16 BASIC colors in the Shark Pallette. IF I use any of the variations of these primary colors, they are ignored and treated as if they are the primary color (one of 16), giving me the a maximum of 16 useable colors. Is this a Shark .obj export issue?
