ViaCAD 15 Pro shows the Stretch cursor when using the Shear command v15.0.15 build 1722 for Mac The command itself performs as it is supposed to, it is only a UI matter. Minor, but a bit confusion as those functions are similar in what they do.

While awaiting the seeing what the shear video is about, I have a question: Does shear apply in the sense of a ship hull or boat hull having shear? For example, suppose I'm looking at a vessel in elevation view. I have near the middle or amidships a starting point where the starting oiint is at, say, 5 meters above waterline. The shear line is to terminate at, say, 7 meters above waterline, at the bow. That's easy enough to draw. But, in reality, a vessel hull may have compound curvature. So, I switch to plan view and I taper the port and starboard curves at the deck, at 5 meters and work them up two meters and to the bow. Does the shear tool look at the traveled or drawn line, do some fairing of the curvatuee in more than one plane or dimension?

Ah, for a few days, something has been gnawing at me. When I wrote "shear", I really meant "sheer", in the naval architecture sense, not cut/tear, usually seen by many as shear.
Tho, I understand shearing forces can be in "shear". And shear as in decreasing the length of something.
For my context, see attachment.
