Yesterday, I stumbled upon a Blender tut on making boat hulls.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...ure=youtube_gdata_player At the 9 minute point, the designer showed how to flatten the top edges of the thickened hull surface.
I want to be able to do that in SLT. I know there is draft and some other setting, but I've never done well with it. Some sort of preview would make me feel comfortable.
Has anyone thickened angled surfaces such as sculptures or ship/boat hulls, discovered their "top faces/edges" to be non-horizontal with the ground/floor/deck, and then succeeded in rectifying that?
In the case of ships/boats, that flatness would need to be achieved from stem to stern.
Thanks!

I attempted to recreate the video steps with Shark FX 9/PowerPack for a simple hull. Although this does not answer your question, perhaps it may create some ideas how to solve the problem.
