I am designing a sheet metal part for 3d printing. All looks good, except after using the bend tool, the flat outline is left. If I try to delete the outline, I lose my solid model.
Will this be alright when I export to .stl, or how do I get rid of the flat outline?

Select the solid, then got to edit/removelinks, this will remove the relationships with the pathline and the model

Now you can delete the outline path

There's no provision in .stl format for 2D objects, 3D only. If you're not convinced, select the model and export 'selection only' as .stl, then import the .stl into a new file to see what travels with it. There's no need for you to break associations in your Punch! file, because you're exporting an .stl derived from it, not modeling an .stl or saving your file as an .stl. They're separate and different, and they both exist at the same time.

If you delete the lines, you will not delete the solid. It will just remove the links from the solid to the curves. Ordinary, by moving or changing the curves/lines, you move or change the solid. When you delete them, you can't do it that way. It's handy when you have to make small adjustments. Now the solid is on it's own and needs to be manipulated in other ways.
