I note that if you click once with the "Render Fence" tool - the whole screen is rendered

Could we be equally smart in the (standard) Render tool - if the tool is dragged across the image - can it be assumed the intention was to render a region of the model - and thus invoke the Render Fence function ?

makes sense ?
