Since unresolved problems clearly aren't going to make it over to this forum .. here's one that's awaiting explanation / resolution ..

I've had no comment thus far and this was posted nearly 6 months ago

- Make a square with 4 lines
- Solid revolve the profile using one of the lines as the axis
- delete the solid
- now move one of the lines that make up the square .. 'Stitch Failed' .. why ??
- If I delete a line, there is no problem !
- Why is it called stitch anyway .. if it's breaking a profile .. shouldn't it say "Profile Broken" .. that I would understand !
- So why the fail when I move a line that has no associations
- In the feature tree I find that the stitch fail is because a profile has been generated by Concepts to enable the solid
- However the profile was not deleted when the solid was deleted
- Why ?

- Can you see that this can cause problems later on .. other than associations that aren't necessary and (presumably) bigger file sizes .. 'can't restitch solid' messages will occur when moving lines with apparently NO associations

Yes, I also noticed that many times, with revolve and also with extrude.
I usually "remove links" on the profile to prevent that.

Attached is a double-crash log file that occured with a simple operation :
-4 lines profile
-extrusion
-delete solid
-move one line.

Double-crash is a very very innovative concept:
- first you get a crash window but CU file is still here on the screen,
- a second crash window appears when you click back on your geometry, and everything is gone.

On the attached log file, first in black, second in blue.

I'm complaining about that, but I'm doing great stuff with CU these days...I love it!

So did you fix the crash .. or did you fix the longstanding bad linkage problem that means unassociated objects retain the wrong history - causing problems later

No .. you fixed the crash ..

.. but you didn't fix the problem with (CU-created associative) 'profiles' remaining in the feature tree - and causing problems - after an extrude (for example) has been created, then deleted

This bug has been around since forever .. it's now 2007 and it's painful to see these bugs that have been around for so many years - still there !

This association - generated by the software - must be deleted when the feature is deleted

Otherwise, the simple action of moving an 'unassociated' line in a developed project can bring Concepts to it's knees and cause you the need to 'force quit' it !

Being such an old bug .. I would expect some kind of fast-track solution !?

What do others think

I did fix it but not in the 660 release.

Does this fix destabilise the code ?

If not .. I feel strongly this should be in 661 !

Jol,

The fix went into a place in the code that had me a bit concerned about releasing without a full test cycle.
