If you use the Axis to Object feature of The Gripper, it would be nice to be able to set the workplane to match that of the Gripper by hovering the mouse pointer over it's origin and using the 'C' key as usual. Martin.

Is there any chance of getting this implemented, Tim? Martin.

I've just had another thought on this for a tweak to the Gripper. Whilst in User Positioned mode, the Gripper can be rotated or translated without having to be associated to an object, but it isn't possible to use the Data Entry Box to make it rotate to the exact angle, or move to the required position. If that omission could be rectified, then in combination with what I'm asking for in my first post, it would become a simple matter to set a workplane in any location to a known and exact orientation in relation to objects that already exist. **Edit** Also add the Gripper to the Workplane list of selectable items. Ooh lovely! It would appear that Tim and Co have already implemented the main part of this in the ViaCAD v8 beta that I've just been playing with :D Thanks very much! Martin.
