Here is the shape I'm starting with:
I'm using the
2-Rail Solid tool and some circles and I get this:

What I want is this:
Does anyone have any advice on how to model this kind of shape?
If possible, I'd like it to have a nice round edge without any flat spots.

Can you post the curve?
You might want to explore the tangent cover tool.
--create an extruded surface
--create tangent cover.
--adjust bulge factor
This should create a very smooth surface.

I should have mentioned that I'm using viaCAD 2D/3D 6.0.0 for Mac OS (PPC) build 786.
Do I have that tool available?
