Why does the program never select the top item you are trying to select? It is a real pain to cycle through the parts to get to the one you want.

I brought this up to Tim. I tried turning off ambiguity selection to make the selection process faster but it doesn't prioritize selection the way i want it to and selects the back faces or faces that are behind the direct face I am clicking on. He said that he made a fix for the upcoming build. This is a must for me. I feel your pain.

If I turn off ambiguity it always selects the bottom object.

In my experience the first item in the list is the one that was last created or modified. Items are listed according to creation/modification. At first it seems confusing but I actually appreciate it now... Claus

When you are dealing with many components how can you remember which was created first or last, surely it would make sense for the top item you are trying to select to be first in the list? It would not matter so much if the parts retained their names but they do not, I have given up naming parts.

I've been hiding everything but the components I need showing when making modifications. It helps but is not the solution.

This is fixed in the next build 1186. Single click selections now sort selected objects based on distance to eye. Ambiguity lists in order away from eye. Ambiguity off auto selects the closest to eye. Tim
