I'm playing around with ViaCad v9 2d. No 3d as we didn't need it. However, I have one very basic question that I can't figure out. If I'm making a door jam for example. I make one leg at 3" x 80". Now I want to copy that leg to the other side leaving a 40" opening. How do I move or copy an object based on it's origin point or the origin point of the object i'm copying from? Right now I can only get it to give me origin numbers from the world. My world origin points are are the corner of my drawing, or page layout if you will. So unless I do math from some random numbers to see how far I'm going, It is a big pain. Thanks for the help

Lots of ways
Offset 1 line of leg to create a center line then use the mirror tool to mirror the whole leg
Use translate tool to move a copy of the leg a set distance hold ctrl to drag copy then enter the distance

Thanks Jason. That transform copy works perfectly. Side question on dimensioning. When doing a vertical baseline for example, I see I can change the first offset putting the first dimension, let's say an inch away from the drawing, but then the second dimension is almost on top of it. Is there a way to set a default so all dimensions are x distance from each other? I know I can go manually change that setting after creating the dimensions, but there has to be a way to do it automatically. Thanks again ps: been paying with this software for only a short short time and am picking up on it quickly.
