Hi, I have an irregular shape (poly line) and want to measure the enclosed area of this shape. I know about the "Verify | Area ..." command, which gives me the information in a popup window, but I wonder if there is a way to achieve this via dimensioning or otherwise compute it or copy it so I don't have it to write it down and insert it into a text field manually. Any suggestions? Regards.

HI I know this doesn't answer your question, but I just take a screenshot of the window and part, and it's a useful tool for reference. I was comparing inertias of different solutions to a crankshaft problem. Mike

You can extract area as an attribute in a BOM, which you can anchor in the drawing and copy/paste from.

Hatch-
it's a common "challenge" we all have; ie: how to keep track of values or figures of merit on the way to a solution. the VERIFY tool in combination with the TEXT tool is about the only thing I've found that works as my requirements include an
associated permanent record. the method is however keyboard intensive and therefore subject to operator error...... your operator is surely better than mine! a word of caution if you're a poor guesser like me or have very difficult requirements, occasionally there is so many lines of text Shark FX 9 "self clears" leaving you nothing............... attached image shows the evolution history of a primary tube done to four places to the right of the decimal. as always, YMMV

Hi folks! Thank you very much for your time helping me out on this. Actually the using the area attribute from the BOM did the trick for me. Regards! Tom
