I've been having more issues with this than anything else...

This morning I reversed a battery charger at work. A real simple design with 3 main pieces, and one cut out.

I then turned off some other layers so I could select all the pieces, and move them into position.

I noticed that when I moved them, one of the pieces didnt 'move' with the others until I let go of the mouse button, then it would fall into place.

So, I moved it, didnt like the location, then hit undo.

When I hit undo, it made a wireframe copy of my object at the origin, that is not grouped with the original object, but cannot be deleted without deleting them both.

This happens a lot lately.

Is this me causing this? or something else?

I've seen it

I'm not sure it's Gripper related - I think the undo stack trips over itself every now and then

This happens to me all the time!
Drives me nuts.
I haven't figured out exactly what causes it to happen yet...

... agrees : )

there are a few aspects of Shark / VC that give rise to such critical issues

I guess Tim will get them all in the end

Meantime - if you notice any patterns that can be documented - they are invaluable to verifying and rectifying such problems

have this "funny" result also from time to time, but can't say exactly when. Think it was when I use the Gripper with the mouse.

My result after the redo are sometimes surprisingly, the visible solid is on another position than the "box" for selection. Nothing I do, except deleting, can correct it :(

Regards
Harald

This is almost getting to the point of being unusable.

I again tonight came up with the 'ghost' object. I'm not sure if its at origin or not. Every time I notice it, it is usually long after its been there, and cannot pinpoint what it was that I did to make it happen.

But tonight, it wasnt that long ago, and I think I did a polygon thicken, then since I couldnt get it to thicken in the direction I wanted, I just thickened it, then used the gripper data entry box to move it the distance of the thickness...

After probably no more than 2 or 3 additional steps, I noticed the 'ghost' object again...

Still offset from the original, but always completely attached to it.
I had to delete both objects again and star over...

Here's a ViaCAD Pro file that repeats the problem if you follow the steps in the video.

A 'wall unit' was made from a block primitive - sized to suit my needs and then duplicated with history (maybe from a copy of a copy), after which it was rotated and positioned etc.

This time I watched it happen.

I made a solid block to be removed from another block.
I used the Gripper to move it out of the way to see if I had it positioned correctly, then used a Ctrl Z to undo and move it back into position, and voila!
there it is another wireframe copy of my original at the origin.

Gripper and Ctrl Z.

I am running version 936.
It says it is the most current version.

Is it?

Should I be updating or something here?

I sure would like a fix to that bug on my pc...

I'm hoping to get out a beta V8 SP1 build within the next couple of weeks. (Encore has swamped the dev team with tasks) When it is ready to test I will put up a post in the Beta section of this forum.
