I have been trying to import some models that I created in sketchup.

Choosing SKETCHUP from the import dialog box then selecting OK, displays the file open box with the Sketchup (*.skp) file type selected.
After choosing the desired sketchup file, absolutely nothing happens, nothing is imported and there are no error, warning or status messages.

What am I doing wrong?

probably a SU v8 format which is currently not supported, save as SU v7 from inside SketchUp and try again.

Also, we had to remove SketchUp from the Apple App Store builds. The SketchUp libraries are not certified for which Apple rejected submission to the app store. Maybe with SketchUp's new management they can make certified libs!

If you bought a copy from the App Store and want sketchup, send an email with your splash screen to me([email protected]) or tech support([email protected]) and we can send you one.

Thanks Norbert, I re-saved in SU v7 format and it imported flawlessly.
It would be helpful if ViaCAD gives some sort of error message indicating that a file version is unsupported instead of just doing nothing.

Thanks Tim, but I have the Windows version.
