I was about to record a string of actions in Shark FX v8, when I realized that I couldn't get Applescript to record any thing. Maybe, I'm just too new to Applescript to make it do anything successful. If any one has any suggestions or insight it will be much appreciated. (I understand that there might be reasons for not utilizing Applescript because of incompatible OS platforms).

If you drag the applications icon to the scripteditors icon you will see all supported features and commands. In the case of ViaCad you get the message that it is't supported. regards Frankg

Drag and drop as recommended : Unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension because it is not scriptable. Oh, well.
