Hello,

I can apply some materials (for instance Ceramic.Terracotta) from the render library to my objects as described in the tutorial. Others like Wood Unfinish.Walnut don't work. Sometimes I can apply a certain material only by using the photo render button but as soon as I move the object later on or zoom into it the rendering effect disappears.

I use ViaCad 8 Pro (German edition, v8.0.3), Windows 7 OS, openGL 6.14.10.11672.
Your support is very appreciated. Thx in advance.
Oliver

HI Oliver

Materials, decals, foregrounds, and backgrounds applied with the Render Library display the effects when you select the PhotoRender: User Specified tool. Zooming, and repainting use OpenGL which uses a fast facet based rendering. The PhotoRender tool uses a ray trace approach for better (slower) visualazation that takes into consider materials, reflections, and refractions.

Thx Tim for your support. With your explanation I now better understand what I have to do and the first trials were indeed successful. But in my opinion the manual as well as the video for version 8 are not clear enough - at least for less experienced users like me.
best regards
Oliver
