Hi all, Does anyone know how to import a STL file and make the model available for further processing such as meshing together with other geometrical forms? I was looking into Solidifying the imported STL model, but I am getting an error message saying that cannot do that for more then 2000 faces. I've tried to simplify the STL with ViaCad unsuccessfully Thank you for the hint Petre

Change the object type to faces, select the faces and stitch to solid.

The solidified .stl will interact with solids. Surface Booleans are in VCP and Shark.

I created a video (snowflake) showing how to convert a STL file to solid using ViaCAD.
http://masterviacad.com/page7/page7.html The default stitcher has some issues when converting STL facets to solids which resulted in the limit. I believe in a later build this was upped to 3k facets.
Encore recently licensed another stitcher to augment the ACIS stitcher which handles larger less precise facets. This will be released in the PowerPack plugin.
