Hi there, I have Shark LT v8. Which I have used for awhile. I also use TurboCAD 2016 Platinum and Medusa4 Personal v6.1 (mainly for the sheet-metal tools). I recently purchased an refurished iPAD Mini 2 and 3Dsystems iSense 3D Scanning hardware to mount on the iPad. The reason for this is that I am a volunteer at the Castle Air Museum and I need to Reverse Engineer parts from a left wing (we have two) of an WWII Navy SBD Dive Bomber from in the South Pacific. I am thinking about scanning a part, export (.OBJ,. STL, .PLY or ,WRL) the file to a CAD program, reverse the bends (flanges / tabs) 180 degrees. Dimension the part, do a little modification and then make a sheet-metal pattern. I can do this with Medusa4 by importing the file as an .DXF file. But I would like to determine the best and easiest method to do the reverse engineering. I notice a person had made a tutorial video on Reverse Engineering with ViaCAD. So it would be between TurboCAD and Shark, but would Shark FX v.9 be a better fit than Shark LT. v9. Or would Shark LT v8 be ok. I will compare TurboCAD to Shark LT to see which one feels better. I have attached a picture and a 3D model of an SBD wing rib.
