Good morning, 'm using the Smart Dimension tool, I'm drawing, or if you will recreating from my old blue print of my home and building the home in the ViaCAD 2D v10, actually trying to duplicate it so I have a working copy of my land lot and home with dimensions, to include measurements. When I use the smart dimension tool, it measures (the arrows are inside the lines, such as the bedroom, measures from inside line to the opposite inside line. On the original blue print of my home, it has the measurement showing a slash through the line from wall to wall, well that makes a difference in my measurement versus what was on the original blue print. Not much, maybe an 1/8 an of inch or so, I know anal, but I want it to be correct. I have looked in the manual, I have found some measurements on p0age 211 of chapter 24 and it has hash mark on the line so I know this system can do it, but I have not been able to determine where I should be to tell the system to change from inside to on the line. Anyone able to give me a hint, like go to draw > Dimension > properties (I found preferences, but nothing that I noticed showing arrow and slash mark on a line). And this is only the 2nd day of the new year. Have a great week. GardenValley (Otto)

Good morning Rokoko, I thank you for replying and the picture. Your picture of what is showing is what I see in the old blueprint, so I know how to change from arrow to the "/". How or where do I go to tell ViaCAD to measure from the outside of the wall (the drawn wall is 3.5" wide on one side to the middle of the wall on the other side? The system that was done for me when I built the home back in 1992, shows measurements from outside wall to the middle of the wall on the ending wall. I'm sure there is a reason they go from outside wall to middle of the opposing wall, maybe building code or something. outside wall ====> \|---|------------|--/--| <==== inside wall Wall Wall from \ to / on original would show like 12' 2" and with the arrows it would show like 12' 1 3/8" inches. Hope this is not confusing. Bottom line, measure from outside wall (on the left) to the middle of the wall on the right for the width. Again, thank you for your assistance, Otto
