the "guy" operating the "tap" this morning clearing wasn't paying attention; see attached image upper left insert. being the "afternoon guy" and an eternal optimist I assumed the fix for the incorrectly tapped hole was a "deep select" and a text box adjustment away........................ see attached image upper right insert. no amount of pleading, muttering, or changing the values in the text box had any effect on the tapped hole representation!
am I doing something incorrectly?
...known problem??
...functionality that doesn't exist yet???

how is the problem best corrected? it's far too many operations in the past to "undo".

Fill the hole(boolean addition)/delete face/s/defeature and redo to spec?

Select the thread with the "Select Deep" tool and change the pitch in the Pitch data box. You can also select the thread in the "Entities" list and use the Inspector, curiously the pitch entered here must be twice the desired amount. Entered in the data window data box works as expected.

pitch isn't my problem; the thread is too short. per your suggestion I tried the Inspector approach to no avail. the software goes off and thinks for a while before coming back with no change............

By the sounds of it, it doesn't like a process that comes after the tapped hole. Has the surface over the hole been cut or anything like that, I'm just thinking it might not be able to figure out where the hole starts or something, therefore can't do it. You could try changing it to left handed and see if that will allow any mods, then change it back?

I'd be filling it in and doing it again, not ideal but something after the tapped hole is, I believe, causing the problem.

Other than that, it's definately a internal thread? I've accidently put a external thread in a hole, and changing it never worked, then I realised what had happened and started it again.

*edit*

I've just done a test. if you select the part, right click the thread in the history, and select 'replace solid' that will fill in the hole without adding more bits. will this work for you? Then just put the hole in again?

I'm thinking that there is another surface down in the hole that the thread tool is using as a start point. Try making the hole while holding the control key to set an associative point to the hole and use that for the thread start point.

another "PowerPack/Modify/Thread" tool opportunity/challenge (aka: problem. without regard to the specified thread depth, the thread tool is providing on the order of 3/4's of one thread.... an overview chart AND file are attached. thanks

Change the length to -0.750. The orientation of your part is upside-down.
