Hi!
The fact one loosing his work on trying to save a
new drawing is very sad ...
Facts: ViaCAD v10.0.5 Build 1359 (MacAppStore Version)
MacOS: 10.13.4
Procedure:
start a new drawing draw a circle press Command+S do save enter a non-existing file name, let's say "a2" press enter ... after these simple steps, ViaCAD shows a bare file dialog were the file icons are gone, just the dysfunctional buttons and input fields are left. I couldn't find any way to get out of this file dialog but killing the app. Escape and cancel button don't work.
I suspect this is related to other issues related to the save mechanism of the Mac Appstore Version already posted in this forum and filed as bug report too.
In order to get rid of the problem with saving, I asked support to convert my MacAppStore Version into a regular one, but unfortunately never got a response back.

Hello hatch Did you upgrade versions of Mac or ViaCAD since the original time you bought and downloaded the program. If you just use file menu to save instead of the keys does it behave the same? What support did you contact and when? Have you submitted bug report? And to what link did you use? Regards Jason

Hi Jason!
as far as I remember the upgrade from ViaCAD 9 to ViaCAD 10 was forced by the fact that after upgrading Mac OS to High Sierra (10.13) ViaCAD 9 stopped working and I were told to upgrade to ViaCAD 10 since ViaCAD 9 was no longer supported.
After upgrading, I deleted ViaCAD 9 from my Mac and ViaCAD 10 was updated one time with a release which came out on the Mac App Store.
My MacOS is up to date too.
The support request was filed in December 2017 using this link:
http://www.punchcadlabs.com/page10/page10.php The error happens only when saving to a new file and it does not make any difference if invoked by shortcut or menu option.

Yes, please feel free to email me as Tim mentioned. We are looking into the issue with the Mac App store version, but in the mean time, I can surely convert you over to the Encore version to get you past this issue.

Up and running ... no issues so far. After converting from the MAS version to the regular version the workflow regarding the save functionality turned out stable and works as expected. Want to thank all of you pointing me into the right direction and for the prompt support I received. Regards.
