Here the problem I import stl file you can not mod it in any simple way to edit it. I want to delete a section of it and I non the tool I find can make it easy short of crappy select tool that like a bullet. Because I have shark for 3d modeling it fine I design in it but impossible to mod any imported stl stuff do to lack of support real modeling. Like I been trying now for past few days to edit a STL file I need to delete a section of it Solid cann't effect it. It like it a ghost to stuff around it not even effected. I'm either messing up really bad by not knowing or lack of tools powers. By the way is there a way select only a surface not have it bullet though the Stl file. Also I find that I cann't move the object it like 100k points or it stops some points.

The STL import is most likely a mesh object. There are a number of ways to modify the part. First you can use the deep select tool (white arrow) to select individual faces, instead of the entire mesh, and delete them. If you hold down the shift key while doing this you can select multiple faces and delete them all at once. If you do this method you will then need to add a surface to close any gaps you create by deleting faces. You mentioned you have Shark. If you have Shark FX v9 or SharkCAD Pro v10, you have the ability to convert the mesh to a solid using the SubD to NURB tool. Once the mesh is a solid, you can now use all the solid tools such as subtract solid, split solid and so on. If you have SharkCAD v10 you could get the PowerPack Pro add-on. This offers the SubD to NURB tool that is in SharkCAD Pro, along with a large number of other tools geared to working with mesh objects.

Being that this just a hobby. Don't even bother ask why I have shark if my computer ever fails or want to move to my gaming computer it was licencing at the time of purchase that let do that. Least pretty sure can do that. LOL this hobby already cost me alot in one year new 1800x 16 gig of ram RX 480 8 gig 1 SDD 2 HHD 1 for games/storage and other for 3ding. 2 Printers and plenty of colorful supply of PLA. 1800x just because really want to build a compter and i'm a amd freaky fan boy. Plus I really loved the sale for at the time. Small purchases like pla are nothing from time to time on my budget it like me building a new computer or the printers or pruchasing 3d software that really hurt. I use STL file do thingiverse but 350+ for powerpack and I cann't even figure upgrade to shark pro bit i know to much for my budget. If were to get the powerpack pro can I use that on my shark and have it as a stand alone on my gaming right that has punchcad 2d/3d. be more clear on that matter shark on my AMD 1800x and I have a copy of viacad 2/3 on my intel 6700k. I want to intergrate in the my shark and use it as a stand alone on my other computer. Point is it in high debate for the powerpack. But the selling point is really high. Anyway you know of to break my will on my tight budget and Swim in my in my tears as I look at my wallet?

The subD to Nurb function is not available, even with the PowerPack Pro on ViaCAD 2D/3D, only ViaCAD Pro V10, SharkCAD V10 and SharkCAD Pro V10. Depending on what version of Shark you currently have you could move that over to your other machine and run it as a stand alone with the PowerPack. I would need to know exactly what version of Shark you have to be able to tell you exactly what it would cost to get set up on your machine with the abilities you are looking for.

If you only work with meshes, it might be easier to use a typical mesh modeling software. If you don't want to spend any money, you could try Blender. If you really need to convert it into Nurbs, you should look at "FormZ free". FormZ has a Subd to Nurbs feature (If I'm not mistaken). On my computer it crashed a lot though, so I'm not shure if it can handle big meshes. Viacad is basically a "Jack of all trades, master of none". You can do solid modeling, surfacing, mesh-editing, rendering and so on. Due to it's low price (compared to other 3d software) all these functions are somewhat limited.
