I recently imported a dwg file. It opens alright but when I try and select one object everything gets selected and stays selected no matter what I do. There are different sections to it they are in MTS but everything is in one layer I would like break it down to different layers to simplify the drawing. Any ideas?

Thanks Jim

either a group or a symbol, check titlebar of the "Window > Inspector" for the entity type.

as already mentioned, ungrouping should resolve the issue.

the entity type of the selected element(s) is displayed in the title bar of the Inspector window, at least if only one element selected or multiple elements of the same type.

The imported drawing says default settings. If I draw a line inspector say line. I wonder if the sender sent it as a read only file.

Have you looked at the file with a 2D-CAD Program ?

[For my hobby interests i am using LibreCAD for inspecting/repairing DXF/DWG-Files]

"default settings" is shown if nothing is selected.

do a "zoom all" and try to select again.

for evaluation purposes you may also try the free ODA Teigha Viewer f. Win/OSX.
