Tim,

Can we have an option in "CutOut Solid" tool to keep parts being cutout/removed?

Lets say, holding "Option" key would let to keep parts of solid, which are normally removed during cutout.
This way we would perform splitting only action.

Have you tried Subtract Solid using the button you speak of retains the part you need?

Holding option key in "Subtract Solid" tool, retains part used to subtract but still removes intersecting part of solid to subtract from.

Try to split attached "Solid slab" into individual parts.
Can anyone offer an effective method of doing it with any tool available in Shark?

Ability to cut/split solids with closed curves or polygons would make problems like this trivial.

Yep, Boolean Split is what you are requesting (See the icon picture)

Excellent suggestion & addition this would be to VC !!
