Hello

I've constructed objects groups while cut sections out of nurbs. A lot of them. Each object group has its own layer. While working with these objects i make the others invisible. Now when i make them visible again i'm missing allot of objects (see Pic 1). selecting all objects in this layer and looking at Features in the Concept Explorer it seems that they are there, clicked at one group it shows the object that was invisible before (see Pic 2). So when i click through the feature list, go back to the layer, make the layer inactive and then active again and do a select all objects. The objects are back. (see pic 5)

Now unfortunately not all the time. And this takes me hours to reconstruct the whole stuff. Till now i lost about 8-10 hours with this problem. What am i doing wrong.

I have started to make copies of my file as long as it is ok. An when it happens again i go back to the copy. But i think that is not the way to work.

ViaCad Pro V8.0.3 (Build 1016)
Win 7 and Win 8.1

regards
Martin

Have you used the shortcuts for Unhide and for Show All to try to expose any items that might have inadvertently wound up on other, turned-off layers?

Have you turned on ALL layers to hunt down "re-exposed" geometry that may have ended up on turned-off layers?

The count of the objects in layer shown in the concept explorer are correct. But the objects are not visible.

The problem is that ViaCad does not always redraw the screen properly. This can happen when there are a lot entities in a view. Try toggling between wire frame and solid view and also changing the view.

Try these, too:

-- export the file as an older vcp type and re-open or import
-- select some geometry you know should be there but is not visible, and see if it is actually "selected" and info about the geometry can be seen in the Inspector
-- explore the Shade Options (shift+h on my system)

On a COPY of the file, test:

-- compacting the file
-- resolving links
-- removing links
