How does one go about saving a page/layout as a new custom model-to-sheet template? I guess these are .srk files.. no? I need to create a custom one for my work but have no idea how to do this without pasting it onto each parts' layer. Any takers? Thanks!!

Hi, you can save you custom files to the install folder where the program installed and look for \Templates\ModelToSheet
For windows its C:\Program Files\Punch! Software\
Shark LT v5 \Templates\ModelToSheet
Replace the blue letters with whatever program you have.
The files can be saved as the program you are using or any of the Shark Viacad programs ViaCAD 2D/3D - .vc3, ViaCAD Pro - .vcp , Shark - .srk , Shark LT - .slt , Shark FX - .sfx to use as template.
I would also keep a backup copy of you templates in your documents folder as well.

Thanks Jason, now I've created the format and it's accessible through the model-to-sheet template menu. New problem, is that when I click on a part and model it to sheet using this template, it creates the layer(s) and throws the template on there which I can see just fine. BUT... there is no orthographic views!! I'm so frustrated because it's so nice outside and everyone is at the lake having fun and I'm here on memorial weekend trying to do this stuff so I dont' get fired. :( What are some reasons why Shark FX is not showing any views? The layers are on and selected. I tried searching the whole document for the views (each layer) but to no avail. The OTHER problem, is that I can't figure out an easy way to take my full-size (1:1) product and model it to sheet such that the hidden holes are shown dashed rather than solid. The "style" is set to solid but the scale is too high. It's a big pain to have to individually select every hole, every hidden line etc and make change the scale of it so that it finally looks like it's dashed. Please help, I'm growing more disenchanted by the minute..

1. if you created the views in the template they should be there when you use as model to sheet
Create your model to sheet views using the single draw view tool and right click on the small red box in the upper left corner and select change view and pick the view you want. Add each view and pick the view you want.
2.I use custom line (pen styles) for hidden lines and center lines. Create the hidden to be the right scale for the drawing size you are using.
Or if you use custom lines I use green for hidden then you can use the selection mask to select all the hidden lines (green color) I have a shortcut p set to pen pattern more then I can change all green (hidden lines in a draw view using selection mask and the p shortcut key.
I have attached a custom model to sheet template with all iso views.

Jason

I see this is an old post but I have the same problem as misterrogers. I have created a custom template and see it program files C:\Program Files (x86)\Punch! Software\ViaCAD 3D v8 SP1\Templates\ModelToSheet When I use model to sheet my custom template appears in the drop down box, I can select my custom template , select the objects and the layout appears but there are no drawings, just the template. Function works fine using the other pre installed templates. I am using ViaCad 8 and windows 7
