In Macromedia Freehand MX which I use as my main vector drawing tool, there is an option to convert any line (regardless of intricacy or complexity in terms of curvature) into a guide which can be snapped to.

It wouldn't hurt to see something like this in shark..

The logicursor tracks on lines and curves, indicators showing "on" while tracking and other snap features when in proximity. Does Freehand do something differently?

Well in Freehand you can drop any lines or shape to the "guides" layer and it any object can snap to any part of it. It's handy if you are developing highly curvilinear profiles and need to confine other elements within it's borders.. very good for precise intricate carvings.

But then again, using Shark FX 5.5, it's not the smoothest bezier/spline function.. I'm much happier with v7's spline tool, though I'm waiting for it to be available for purchase.

If I understand you, I think VC/Shark works that way without having to shuffle layers so long as snaps are enabled. That sounds like what I've been doing, anyway.

V7 is on sale, PM Tim for details.

I did but he told me to contact Customer Service. Did that and was told that it wasn't available yet. Are you aware of something different? I'm getting pretty anxious checking the main site every day but to no avail.

I bought it when the beta trials ended, I assumed that it was available on that basis.
