I know that repeatedly hitting "C" over an axis or point is for cycling-through/setting an arbitrary plane, but how do you VIEW from that arbitrary plane?

Is Menu -> View -> View The Plane, what you need?

Martin.

If that is indeed the command you were looking for, I have another thought for you...

Assign it to a hot key, like z.

I did that and found myself using the z key more than you can imagine. So much so that I went to work and assigned the z key to view the plane on all the cad programs that I use!

I'm Z happy!

Mike...

Hahah Thanks guys! the View > View the Plane was hidden from sight for me. It magically disappeared from my absent-minded eyes. And somehow it magically re-appeared.

I kept looking under the Work Plane menu.

Speaking of shortcuts, I will say that I do use Z but it's currently assigned to Corner-to-Corner Square. My Q is a straight line, and A is straight line from midpoint. X is segment-at-location. R is rotate, T is translate, O is convert object, E is explorer, I is eye-dropper, M is measure (maybe that was a default), P is point, S is select mask, W is mirror (since the letter looks like a mirrored object), and so on.

Since i start all my modeling from 2d cad, I find that these few short cuts speed up my work flow tremendously. Some of my peers still love autocad and mainly because of it's command line which I don't care for.
