Isn't this the point ? Without a location aware ambiguity pop-up - which is what I'm proposing, there is NO way to select a feature .. only a part - (or a part thereof with hollow arrow) - other that by trapsing through the feature tree, which I think we're all agreed can get exceedingly complex very quickly
How are you suggesting that you select that one radius blend feature that you made whilst you were making say 127 others ?
Sorry if I'm getting confused

this is a good subject but it gets wordy to describe..
I understand having the ambiguity pop menu but, dosen't the program already recognize features by where you select for example...
if you use selection tool and double click on the feature you want yes the whole part highlights but it does open the object info box and update the data entry fields at the top with the correct feature you clicked on to modify but its confusing seeing the whole part highlighted instead of only the selected feature highlighted.
if you use the selection tool and single click on a feature like a particular fillet/chamfer,hole the whole object highlights and if you rt click and pick object info it opens object info with the last created feature selected not the one you click on??? I am not sure if this is how its supposed to work?
I like your suggestion of the feature tree opening up to the selected feature and selecting it and then it should be the only highlighted feature on the object, but is the submenu necessary? If you double click on an object's feature the object info box opens to the correct feature so it knows this by where you click with the selection tool.
so if you click on say a fillet then right click -->contextual menu and have a option -->open feature tree and it automatically opens as you described in your 1st post opens to the correct place in the feature tree highlights the feature and then the feature should be the only highlighted thing on the model with the data entry bar updated and ready to go. Currently the data entry bar at top does not change to the item selected in the feature tree??? not sure why not?? and conversely if you just double click on a feature the object info opens and the data entry box updates with correct fields but it the name stays part_203 instead of the name of the feature you are modifying???
or are you saying you would like the ambiguity pop because its too hard to click with the select tool and hit the exact feature you want? what are you thoughts...
i am sure others should jump in also and comment because this is important part of using the interface!!!
