Yes, and no.

If you have 20 3-point block primitives and you want to change them all to 20mm high and they were all constructed in the same way then you can do it. Select all, go to the Inspector / Object Properties / Data, change the height and then press Apply.

If your needs are any more complex than this for example a mixture of cubes and cylinders, then you can't select all and edit all.

Editing copies can also be occasionally problematic as sometimes Shark will make an ACIS solid instead of the primitive. The ACIS solid is of course not editable.

If instead of copying your parts, you use the Polar or Linear Duplicate tools you can create associative parts so that changing a dimension on the originating part will change all parts.

Hi Ryan

In the polar and linear duplicate entry box check the associative duplicates box.

All you can rt click on a part and create instance of part.

Thanks very much Nick. I didn't notice the 'associative duplicates' on the array tool. Using this, I can edit the extrusions exactly the way I wanted to.

Just to expand on this, is it possible to have multiple instances of a particular component that aren't polar/linear duplicated that will change when one is modified?
For example, I have a piece of furniture that uses multiple instances of the same part but in different places, some horizontal, some vertical etc.
the part at the moment is 20mm thick and I want to see what it would look like if it were made 30mm thick, or 15mm thick.

Sketchup has this feature and it's really useful.

Check the 'Associated Duplicates' box in the polar/linear duplicates window.

You can always reposition instances after they have been created. The alternative is to create each instance individually.

True, although there are some issues with that:
Only modifications to the "parent" part get applied to the other instances. I can see where this might be an advantage, but it has the potential to cause all kinds of confusion, especially since the "child" parts don't update themselves immediately after a change to the parent.

I've also had issues with the hole tool not applying itself consistently to the child parts once they've been repositioned.
