Check attached image. I am copying a hole along a path, 5 times.

The result is that the original hole moves to a different location so the holes are 'equally' spaced along the path.

I think the hole should stay put.

What do you think?

I would think it should not move, but I'm too new at this game to make the call.
You want it equally spaced from the original hole?

I'm still trying to figure out how you made the hole to begin with ;)

uh oh i've gotta vote for "we must not let it move". Otherwise all the other stuff in there will start moving by themselves when we're not watching :)

Hi,

Thanks for the reactions guys.

Mogal, to make the hole, it is really easy:

- draw a line
- revolve it as a surface around an axis 360 degrees
- select the top edge and make a cover surface
- mirror copy that to the bottom
- stitch the surfaces into a solid
- move the solid to the correct position
- split the solid with the newly created solid
- remove the parts that you don't want

There is your hole! If you want the hole to be bigger/smaller simply move the line.

Good luck, Orlando

p.s. or you can just use the 'hole' tool, it is on the third solid palet from above, 3rd tool.

Hi Orlando
See the attached to see some interesting ways the "linear array" tool works.
Suerte!
