In this case, as you quite rightly point out Steve, yes, I was incorrect. :)
Tim sometimes doesn't always answer questions we make to him. This is I suppose understandable in the circumstances isn't it? But with CAD software being so pricey these days one would expect offered software to be fairly bug free. As I said, I'm hoping to fork out for a seat of Shark very soon, and I (like you too?) want to be absolutely certain that I am not getting a turkey.
warmest regards,
Tom

I didn't mean to be rude, I just want to get my point across without the post/subject getting out of hand. Lets remember we are all the same side:D:D, that is we want the software to be good & user friendly!!

Some of the basic commands like trim are still throwing up problems for me but I am sure Tim has them on his "to do list". The price is excellent IMO and will something I will buy next year (assuming it doesn't hike up).

No problem at all Tim!! I just hope we see some of these resolved in the next patch so I can blow some smoke in your direction;)

Good example and one I have sent to Tim some time ago. This issue is with B-Splines created by the Int. spline tool. If you try a Control point spline it works okay.....
A work around to OUR problem is to use the segment to curve tool which effectively "Splits" it up :(
Im glad you are finding these issues and commenting!

Mate, that's cool  :)
Bottom line is that CAD is hard to learn- Shark being no exception. It can be so deep at times

But that takes us back to the problems where the endpoints of a closed control point spline will move when the CP spline is trimmed and will no longer be connected correctly, which is another bug never fixed. The last post I made on this:-
http://forum.punchcad.com/showthread.php?t=2002 According to the logic of ttrw, that is not a bug because Tim did not answer.

Steve,
Fixed....finally. As some folks mentioned, it had to do with trimming periodic curves (closed with same tangent).
It also fixes the one you mention in...
http://forum.punchcad.com/showthread.php?t=1469 Will post a qt movie showing this and a couple of other things it now does.
Many thanks all, your feedback was most appreciated.
Paul retesting some of your trim cases...

Hi Tim, Good to hear you have found and fixed that problem. Have you had any success with the problems with a CP closed spline where the end point connections lose angled position when trimmed? I have made posts before, but can post examples if required. Regards, - Steve

Hi Tim,
From VC 2d/3d build 833. Simple example.
Pic 01 shows CP closed splice, endpoints aligned. (file CPS trim)
Pic 02 show trimmed CP spline (file CPS trim2)
Pic 03 shows close up of now misaligned endpoints.
Regards,
- Steve

Hi Steve,
This is fixed in the 834 build. I also changed the trim logic to preserve the start/end as one curve segment if through this point it is G2 continuous.
(Paul this will help with your offset ellipse trim issues as well)
