Folks,

Does anyone know the cause of disappearing parts? When you use the Add Solid tool and after selecting the second item to be merged, one of the parts disappears totally?

By the way, Remove Links, copy-delete-paste the parts do not resolve this problem. Occasionally translating one part wrt the other part solves it, if you can call that a solution...

This is with SFX build 998, but has been going on for a long time. Move the file from Mac to Windows 7 64, same problem.

I use this tool a lot and never met this issue.
I think Tim will need a file or a video...

Hi JLM, (and Tim?),

Wouldn't you know, I go to get the file that has this problem and now the Add Solids works fine. This is crazy, can't get it to fail now (careful what you wish for...). Went to Windows 7 64 version and it fails (see video).

I did manage a workaround of sorts on the Mac. I exported each part as IGES files, re-launched SharkFX, opened each part, copied/paste to common file (they actually maintained their colors and transparency settings and alignment. On the IGES imports I performed Add Solids and they merged correctly. Copied over to the original file and all is well.

Go figure....
