I have a question on the use of title blocks in
ViaCAD.

I found the pre-defined title blocks in the component
window (4100 area I think) but they are 1:1.
If I am drawing something (a house say) that is
70' x 40' for example I would draw the main object
with a 1:1 scale but how do I get a title block (and
border lines) in the correct size for the sheet that
I will want to print.

There are a few steps to take when doing this.

You will have to import the Template you would like to use into your drawing.

Most templates come with Draw Views already included. Delete them.

In the Print Layout window (from the edit menu) check the box next to "Show page breaks in drawing window". This will give you a gray outline of the actual paper size you have selected to print on.

Using the New Draw View tool create a single draw view in the titleblock

Set scale and view for the New Draw View (right click in the new draw view)-The view you want to set the view to is going to be the view you drew your drawing in. Default on the draw view is front. Setting scale can be difficult.

The formula I use is: Draw view width in inches divided by drawing width in inches. For example a 8x11 landscape page has approxiamtely 10" of good width so for a 70' wide house i would use 0.011 as the scale or 10/840

Copy and Paste your drawing into the Draw View you created.
