Good news is that Google launch Google Drive for storing and sharing files. And it outdoes Dropbox by giving 5GB of capacity for free. Good for sharing or discussing your drawings with others.

Make sure you read Google's terms and conditions before you use them.
Personally, I'd rather pay for storage.

I would anyhow be reluctant in saving intellectual property or business emails to the 'cloud'... even if the lic. agreement sounds serious crypting important docs could be a good idea.

Does anyone know if TLS Certificates, in my mail client, work on google mail servers? And I would think that encrypted email is useless to them unless they know your key. I'm starting to reroute my mail through them. Ernesto

Google services are not free They make their money from using your data - it's that simple If you use their 'free' services, they use your data It's a trade, like any other - except slightly less honest

What data do they use and how? I can see how they advertise to me based on my emails - seeing ads at the top with the same subject as a particular email. But for using something like Google Docs, is there something I don't know about? I use Docs a lot.

Hi Misterrogers I think that's the point - we don't really know what they do with it ... but they seem to believe they are free to do what they choose.

That sounds rather scary the way you put it. First they tempt you with all this "free" email storage and then before you know it, nothings truly free. At least google maps street car didn't go up my driveway into my backyard like some people. :-)
