I am having an intermittent problem with snaps. The attached file contains a polygon rectangle and a line. I want to snap a line to the intersection.

Both items seem to be on the same plane. They were both drawn on the Global plane. The curser finds mid points and end points but not the intersection. Sometimes I can get this to work if I overdraw the polygon segment with a line. Am I missing something?

Hi Rob,

It looks like another limitation with using smart polygons. If you right click the polygon and "Change object type" to lines or curves, then you can get the intersect (and trim etc).

I converted it to lines and it found the snap. I'll have to start using group instead of polygons for building models.
Thanks

Hi Rob,

There have been a number of post concerning the usefulness of the "Smart polygons". I actually avoid using them.
(when drawing a polygon, there is an option at the top of the screen where you can choose to use a "smart polygon" or use lines)
