Wow! Thanks! That is nice. Can i safely assume that even with the curved solid, one can remove material and the remaining lines (edges making the outlines of the letters) will be perpendicular to the surface? This seems really great. This is useful for etching the ship names and draft markings/load lines onto hull surfaces (helps the painters/bosuns paint in the right location and aids inspectors in the even the paint wears off or cheats try to fake their draft). A ship drafter i know said a few years ago he and his coworker simply could not get satisfactory results out of AutoCAD. Now that ACAD 2009 & 2010 are in place where he works, it would be very nice to find out that VCP can do this and ACAD cannot. I'll have to ask him if my memory is correct and that i'm not misquoting him.

Yes.

Here is a quick example showing the perpendicular outer edges of the curved solid.
