I don't know if this is possible, but on several occasions when i am using the trim tool, and I need to deselect entities, I have to use the Selection tool to deselect those selected entities. Would it not be better just to be able to click outside of an entity to deselect it rather than having to go back to the selection tool? This would be a definite improvement to workflow :)

What might be more useful would be if holding down the command key, for instance, while in any other tool temporally gave you the selection tool. This is the way Illustrator and Freehand work and I find having to change to the Selection tool to make any change to the selection extremely clunky.

While in the trim tool, you can add/remove items by holding down the shift key.

If you have a bunch of stuff to turn off, right click and select deselect all.
