I have been using Vellum Solids through to CU through to Shark for a round 7 years now. In all that time it was always easy to set a size of image and click render to file.

Not any more. Since upgrading to Shark from CU I reckon nearly every other render gives me this tiny little image inside a big white window.

Also the wonderful settings which always bring an image back to the correct size and perspective as set does not work any more. It comes back to the right angle but often as a tiny image.

This is a sad and regressive move.

Please can this be fixed. It's wasting my precious time.

Tim,

Do you have any new insight into this? I believe that it only happens when perspective is selected.

Yes, I can take a look. Can you guys give me a sample file with steps to repeat? If it's related to a perspective setting, have the view saved where it is to be rendered at.

Tim,

I have a file that does this consistently but it is 60 megs zipped. How would I get it to you?

I have noticed that the problem required that I am in perspective and I "zoom all" before I render to file. This only happens in "render to file". When I found this out I thought that (although it does not show on screen) the rendering was incorporating points outside of the view. I could not find that to be true however.

Art,

I sent you a private email with an ftp site to upload file.

Many thanks!

Oddly, I just kind of suggested that (using Limewire instead), but weirdly the forum seemed to crash- did it crash?

I have been experiencing the same problems with Shark lately too. It happens when I do a Render to File. It seems to have something to do with the "Match Width/Height Ratio" checkbox. I usually have to alternate between checking and unchecking the option to get the result I want. Usually, when the rendering status report shows a very quick render, you can be quite sure that the rendered image is much tinier than what you expect.

This has never happened throughout the past versions of CU and Shark.

Best regards

I've got it to repeat thanks to Art's file and steps. Working on a fix.

Hi All,

Fixed in next build, 806. This also corrects the perspective toggle at the bottom of the main tool palette.
