I think in view of ViaCad's low price, there is no upgrade path as such.

Cheers, Martin.

Mark,

We are about to announce a price change from V2d/3d to VPro. Shortly in Sept VPro will change to ~249. Our normal upgrade pricing is MSRP New product - What you paid for old product -20. So I'm expecting upgrade pricing to be about ~150 shortly.

Shark LT will fill the $495 price point when it is released.

Also just a heads up, VPro is still at V5.

...thanks for the responses, most especially Tim's. The ~$150 upgrade price is much more likely to get past my CEO (aka, wife) than the higher, older, price....I'll start carrying a sack lunch to work! Thats the ticket!

p.s.....given that I have only spent a few dozen hours in the software, it shows how much I like it - I'm already salivating over those extra feature boxes checked in the "Pro" column.

So what would be the cost to move from ViaCAD Pro to Shark Light?

Joe

Last I heard from sales it will be the cost of an upgrade for those who purchased before Sept 1. Our upgrade costs between major versions are typically 20% of MSRP. So...I'm guessing around $90.00 US to upgrade from VPro to Shark LT.

Regards

Tim,

I downloaded the beta of Shark LT and I can't seem to find any difference between ViaCAD Pro and Shark LT in the 3D area. It looks like there are a few additions to the 2D area.

Are features going to be dropped from the $249 version of ViaCAD Pro?

Hi Joe,

No features will be dropped in ViaCAD Pro. I need to put together a detailed matrix of the functional differences between Pro and LT.

I guess we're in the usual release delay right now.

Not that it makes much difference to me right now. I'll find out in Jan if I still have a job, in which case I would probably upgrade, by way of celebration...

have fun!

Hallo Norbert, the problem was not the decision what upgrade i need, it was something else , what has nothing to to with the software.
