I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. Viacad 2D3D ver 738 If I draw a shape circle or square on the xy axis then extrude solid in the z axis all is well. Now if I want to add to that extrusion say more circle and squares I'll draw them on top of the existing extrusion but sometimes they'll end up on the bottom of the extrusion other times it is OK it's like if can't determine if clinking on top or bottom of extrusion. Am I the only one with this issue? Am I doing something wrong? Or was this an issue now fixed in Ver6? Thanks Victor

Hi Victor, Sounds like you need to either set up a workplane on the top of the extrusion to prevent the shapes being drawn on the default workplane, or, probably easier to set snaps to snap to "face on" (window~ snaps~ "face on") - Steve

Thanks Jason and Steve. Seems like the face snaps took care of 99% of it I'll guess the 1% is my doing :) In the snaps section I have them all enabled except for the last 2 . does this seem OK? Thank you Victor

Hi Victor Glad to see your getting things working the way you want. The only thing with the workplane and face snaps on is its harder to use extrude or cutout by vector since you have to specify 2 vector points that may not be on the face or the current workplane. Have you tried using the show dimming to see what objects are in the current workplane? Jason

Thanks Jason, I've just tried it with plane snaps off and it worked great. Little things that make a big difference. :) I wish there was a user tool bar we could drop our own tools into. if we did have a customizable tool bar with say 10 spots so you could drop in your own most used tools it would be nice. less time searching. any way thanks for the help Victor
