I'd like to see curves updated for smoothness when I'm zooming in close.

This would be to get rid of the effect that makes circles and other curves look like they are made of straight lines and I think it would like the program easier and more pleasant to use, especially when trying to join or intersect other curves.

Did you triy using the Inspector/Properties to change the curve/object to Super Fine? Normally it looks great this way when zoomed in. (Also can go into Preferences-Display to set all the new objects to Super Fine.)

Phil.

Yes I often use 'Superfine' although I often find the 'Even Distribution' option seems to be at least as effective in smoothing out curves, whilst I admit I don't really know what the latter option is actually doing.

The reason for requesting this feature is because I have other (CAM) software, which doesn't display the faceting anything like as prominently as ViaCAD does, without having to make special effort to achieve it.

The problem as I understand it is that it takes significantly longer to compute a true circle than it does a polygon, so this effect is a by-product of maintaining system performance versus display quality.

My thought was that screen resolution could be increased at higher zoom levels, which is when there are fewer objects in view and so (I'm presuming), more computing power per object.
