Why can't I blend these two solids?

Did you try in blend options uncheck chained edges and check feature interaction box? And are you holding shift and selecting the faces of the two objects?

Yes, tried everything. Is this blend to sophisticated for ViaCad Pro 6?

I can blend for .020" and less.... No more because you don't have a continuity in your profile.
